Solar Energy Panels

Residential solar electricity panels produce renewable energy that can supplement your grid supply to help you cut your electricity bills into half. With free energy that you can freely tap from the sun, this is a stable source of power that will not run dry as long as the sun shines.

These solar energy panels are usually installed on your roof or at your backyard. The choice depends on which location has more exposure to direct sunlight during the crucial period from 9am to 3pm. Solar power can be used to run almost any household electrical units such as heaters, lighting and other electrical appliances.

It is not possible to supply power to your entire house using only one solar energy panel. But you can easily connect an array of photovoltaic panels so you can even go off-grid. Using only a few solar panels, you can at least slash your energy bills permanently by a significant percentage. If you generate excess power during the day or during summer, your local power company will probably pay you as you turn your power meter backward.

Using solar energy, you can help preserve our environment by reducing your carbon footprint. The amount of fossil fuel that you indirectly burn will be reduced as you choose to live with clean, renewable energy. Definitely, by relying less on fossil fuel, you will not be subjected to its long-term (price) inflation. While others are complaining about how expensive things are, you'll only continue to laugh your way to the bank - you'll be saving more money and the power company will pay you more for the excess electricity you supply.

The government had a recent revelation of the importance of using renewable energy. Rebates and incentives (in the form of tax credits) are given to homeowners who make use of clean energy to power up their home.

For a medium-sized house, commercially installed solar panels can easily cost you more than $25,000. Depending on the intensity of the sun, you can expect your solar energy panels to pay for themselves in a matter of 10 to 15 years. The discouraging truth about this is most folks cannot afford this kind of money...and are not willing to wait that long.

The good news is they can build their own photovoltaic panels that are far cheaper than any commercial models available. Therefore many homeowners are quietly saving thousands of dollars that would have been used to pay for professional photovoltaic panel installation.

But do not think for a moment that homemade (DIY) solar energy panels are some flimsy constructions. They are not. These can be as hardy and effective as commercial panels that can withstand the abuse of precipitation and strong wind.

If this is something you'd like to explore further, you can do a little research online to find excellent guides that give you expert instructions on building and installing your own residential solar electricity panels.
