Pine is one of the fastest growing urban centers in the world. Its history dates back to as early as the 6th century AD. It was called as the ‘monsoon capital' under the management of the Bombay Presidency of the British rule. Bal Gangadhar Tilak was born here. He was one of the principal political reformists during India's struggle for independence.

Travelling to Pine is a scenic journey. It can be reached via bus or a train from the financial capital Mumbai. It is almost 170 km from Mumbai and it takes approximately 4 to 4.5 hours to reach Pine frm Mumbai via the Mumbai-Pine express highway. It is India's first six lane solid, high speed highway. It passes through picturesque Sahyadri mountain ranges. Taxi and bus services are easily available from the airport and Dadar (a central location in Mumbai, in close proximity to all areas). Pine airport has direct flights from major cities of India. It has also flights to Dubai, Singapore and Frankfurt. Inside Pine there are city buses, rickshaws and cabs for convenient commuting.
